William F. “Trey” Underwood, III

Because “Justice” is more than just a word

From his time as a law student at Florida Coastal School of Law, where he served as president of the school’s American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), William F. “Trey” Underwood, III has been focused on justice. For Trey, “justice” is not just a word, it is a vital idea in our society: doing what is right for the good of all.

After graduation, Trey put that simple but powerful idea into practice. The Dougherty Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office entrusted him with handling the prosecution of felony, misdemeanor, and juvenile cases. His tireless, determined work for the District Attorney provided Trey with valuable trial experience as lead counsel in jury trials.

Trey left the District Attorney’s office in 2009 and joined his late father, William F. “Bill” Underwood, Jr., at Underwood Law Offices, P.C. It was at this time he also began to focus on obtaining justice for individuals as well. Trey began handling personal injury and workers’ compensation litigation, championing the causes of those who needed help setting things right – even when the odds seemed formidable. For Trey, it was just one more way to serve the ideal of justice.

Recognizing that individuals affected by injuries on the job or serious personal injuries need a strong, knowledgeable supporter willing to fight for justice, Trey opened his own firm dedicated to representing these victims in 2010. His knowledge and experience in handling personal injury and workers’ compensation cases led to success, and to justice for the victims: Trey has recovered millions of dollars for his clients since opening his practice.

It’s about making a difference

What is it about getting justice for individuals that is so important that Trey Underwood has dedicated his practice to this ideal?

The answer is simple: It’s a direct way to give back, to help his community directly. Trey is a native son of Albany, Georgia, where he currently resides. He serves the cause of justice one person at a time by helping individuals within the southwest Georgia community – and all Georgians who need strong, experienced legal services. Trey gives back to the legal profession as well, teaching classes and chairing seminars for lawyers on topics such as workers’ compensation.

Trey is ready to fight for what’s right for you. Are you ready to get started?
