Our founding attorney, William F. “Trey” Underwood III, was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia once again!
Attorney Underwood has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2007, and was elected to serve on the organization’s Board of Governors in 2017.
The Board of Governors consists of 160 of the State Bar of Georgia’s approximately 50,000 active members. The members of the Board of Governors meet throughout the year to create policies and discuss the affairs of the State Bar of Georgia, and speak for the interests of the Bar’s other members.
Each member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Board of Governors represents a separate judicial district in the state. Attorney Underwood represents the Dougherty Circuit, in the “Post 2” position. He will hold his seat of the Board of Governors until 2021, when his position is up for another re-election. He is a former Dougherty Circuit assistant district attorney and served as president of the Dougherty Circuit Bar Association and is happy to continue to represent the people of the Dougherty Circuit through his position with the State Bar of Georgia’s Board of Governors.
The State Bar of Georgia serves as a professional organization for attorneys to continue their legal education and connect with other attorneys in the area. The Bar also provides the public with accessible resources for finding a lawyer and understanding their rights under Georgia state law.
